5 Web Site Traffic Generation Methods That Work

One of the biggest challenges as I was building my web sites is traffic generation. I don’t think anyone can really claim they mastered that skill to get more unique visitors to their web site or web page.
I am certainly not an expert in this subject but I do see some results every time I did something to drive traffic to my web sites.
The following are 5 web site traffic generation method that worked for me…so far.
1) Article submission
This is the earliest web site promotion strategy that I found to work. All I have to do is write article related to the product I am promoting and submit it to article submission directory.
One of my favorite is Ezinearticles.com. But they can be a pain some time.
Other directories that I found to generate a good flow of visitor traffic are Goarticles.com and Articlesbase.com.
2) Squidoo lenses
This is very similar to doing article submission but without the strict criteria to follow. Squidoo.com is generally a 1 page web site that we can create to drive traffic.
When I am creating my Squidoo lens, I tend to spend quite a long time at it. I will usually take about an hour to get a lens done.
There are a lot of settings and add on that I can include in the lens hence taking a longer time.
3) Blogcatalog
For some reason, I am getting good traffic from Blogcatalog.com for my blogs. It is a Web 2.0 service where I can submit my blog to be included into their catalog.
Every time I post a new article on my blog, Wordpress automatically pings Blogcatalog and a bookmark will be created. The same bookmark will bring visitors to my post. Love it!
4) Image search
I didn’t realize this at first but I do get quite a good number of visitors from the image links in my blog.
All of the images I use are hosted on Photobucket. I guess all the pictures in my account are open to Google Image Search.
When someone searches a particular image tag, he will land on one of my blog post.
5) E-mail list broadcast
This is a traffic strategy I am trying to grow right now. I use Getresponse Email Marketing service to capture e-mail lists.
I notice every time I do a newsletter broadcast linked to a particular blog post, the next day, there will be a visitor spike on that page.
For anyone who is involved in internet marketing and does not have a list, it is time to start building one.
